Painting and
Protecting
While
older rattan
isn’t exactly considered a collectable if it’s in poor condition,
you can often find rarities at yard sales for extremely low prices. If
you manage to stumble across one of these gems, give it a
makeover with some fresh paint. Just remember to wash the item down
thoroughly prior to the application with some cheap beds vinegar and water. Also,
fill any cracks or holes with wood filler and utilize
some basic wood glue to secure any loose sections. After a few coats
of oil based primer and a solid spray painting with the final colour,
you will have a timeless piece.
